The very thought of recording something of her eventful life almost frightened me. She would smile at the idea and think it a great joke. She was never one for front stage living and liked to get on with her simple life on a day to day basis.

     Her many friends, however, (many of whom are still living and who vouch for what I have written) encouraged me to recall some of the many events in her life. So, in order to please them and record for posterity a lady, in every sense of the word, I offer for your enjoyment a brief look into the life of Biddy.

SECOND PRINTING

     When Biddy was first published I never envisioned having to have a second printing. It has taken me a long time to agree to do a second run. Pressure from so many people over the years has left me little option but to agree to this edition.

     This second run has some changes since many of those who were featured in the first edition have since gone to God. I have inserted new photographs to lend further understanding of the period and the families mentioned in the book.

     As with the first edition I have no doubt you will laugh a little, cry a little and enjoy “Biddy” as though she were your mother, sister or friend. She was special for me and for many more too numerous to list.
