I'm glad you stopped by for a visit.
My name is Father Jim Bradley and I am
a priest at Saint Bruno's Catholic Church
in Whittier, California just outside L.A.
FatherJim.com started in 1999 and I'm
proud to say it has grown to where we now
have thousands of visitors each month.

I love researching books, newspapers and the
Internet to find subjects that I think will be of
interest. Many friends send me articles and I
also write a few of my own! I hope you enjoy
my selections and come back often. Please
tell your family and friends to stop by too.
As always, I welcome your thoughts, ideas,
questions, suggestions and viewpoints.

God Bless. Father Jim, SDS

Lent 2010 - FASTING. This season of Lent for all Christians is precious. For centures people from different parts of the world found their own means of FASTING and PRAYING. Ancient Greeks fasted to achieve mental sharpness. American Indians fasted to be able to demonstrate courage. Russian Icon artists fasted to paint more beautifully, while Jews fasted to hasten the coming of God's Kingdom. For most of us FASTING is a form of denial and mortification - a means of developing our prayer life to the Father of all goodness. How far am in tune with the Divine Essence? I know that fasting makes the passion for such a state more tense. Let us pray; Heavenly Father help all of us to find you in our lives and afford blessings for our families and frieds. Bless all of them and bless each of one of us. Amen. Every blessing to you and yours this Lent.
